A family in Pasadena California have created their own urban farming facility which I think is fascinating because they run the entire project with solar energy and serve the community with fresh produce from their garden. And when I say facility, I really mean, their home. It's a wonderful concept, stripping away the concept that anything of quality must come from a corporation. And in these harsh days of the recession, companies aren't trusted very much. There are more and more reports about the unsanitary procedures at large farming plants and call backs of vegetables carrying deadly e coli. This story is not only a breath of fresh air, but a model for urbanites to consider as we gallop into the future.
